Step 4: Print again (This time to make a mold)

The printing at this point is either for a mold or the print itself takes the place of wax in the casting process. I use both methods. It roughly breaks down like this: I make molds for pieces I plan to recast. I directly cast from the print when the piece is one of a kind or it’s something that won’t mold well. Under cuts don't mold well and I use them many times. Actually the ring in the photo didn't work as a mold at all so I had to redo that one.
