Sterling silver with a 24k gold foil applied with the keum boo technique, 3mm pink spinel cabochon. The silver has been blackened by a liver of sulfur patina. The hubcap in the center rotates.
The entire brooch measures 1.19” x .95” x .58”. There is also a 17” chain with a 2.5” extension connected to a .5” silver tube which fits over the brooch pin.
One of a kind.
I used a spangled texture on the fender to make it look more like a painting: close up you can see the separate colors, but as you more further away, they begin to mingle.
The hubcap has appeared in other pieces where it is just the silver and liver of sulfur. I wanted to take the design further by adding color and by making it rotate.
The models were designed on the computer in ZBrush, 3d printed in a castable resin and cast in sterling silver. I do all the finishing work.
