Sterling silver blackened with liver of sulfur, 24k gold foil applied using the keum boo technique, a small faceted apatite, 24” chain, and a safety catch for the brooch pin.
The piece measures 1.94” x 1.4” x .35”.
One of a kind. I don’t think I could ever get it cast again.
I played with s-curves on a 3 dimensional spiral until something happened that I liked. Totally abstract, but it does suggest an alien shrimp. I made this a while ago and recently revived it, giving it a 24k spine with the keum boo technique and dressing it up with a small apatite.
I modeled this on the computer in ZBrush. It was printed and cast in silver elsewhere and a while ago.
