Sterling silver with 24k gold foil applied with the keum boo technique. The silver is blackened with a liver of sulfur patina.
The entire brooch measures 2.27” x 1.48” x .46”. It has a safety clasp.
One of a kind.
This tree stump used to be in a park near me. It was removed several years ago. I photo scanned it before it was removed because of its shape and also I was intrigued by it. It was a big tree and had lived a long time to become that hollowed out. It was poignant and beautiful in the way things are when they’ve passed away but have still left part of them behind. I’m very glad I documented it.
I put the photo scan together on the computer in ZBrush, then had the model printed and cast. I do all the finishing work.
