Sterling silver, liver of sulfur patina, red nail polish, wax, .88 x .9x .5". with an 18” chain.
I was in an online exhibition called Amend celebrating the 100th anniversary of the ratification of the 19th amendment which gave women the right to vote. I made this piece for that exhibition. The first one sold during the exhibition, so I made another.
I took a pair of hands from my giving hands necklace, and made them more feminine by elongating the wrists and giving them longer fingernails which I then painted with red nail polish. The hands are very dark and the word very light for a stark contrast, and emphatic gesture.
