A statement ring. The aquamarine is a little over 1” long and about .3” above the finger at the highest point of its curve. It's protected by its setting, but I would recommend wearing ti with care. It's a tall ring.

Sterling silver 5-banded ring with a 5-braid in the back. Size 7.
Untreated aquamarine, marquise cut.22mm x 9.75mm x 8.4mm.
Ring's overall dimensions: 1.35” x .95” x .87”.
There’s a 5 strand braid on the back of the band. Three of the strands form the setting while 2 form adjacent curves under the gemstone. When you look through the stone at those curves, the refraction of the stone causes you to see 2 Xs instead of the curves.
I knew exactly what this would look like when I first saw this aquamarine. This is one of the few times when the piece actually matches the vision I had of it.
I laid out each of the bands of the ring and wove the back using the 3D modeling program, ZBrush. I printed the finished piece in a castable resin and had a silver cast made from the print. Finished with a liver of sulfur patina.
