I set this stone in sterling silver to bring out its color. On a 17” darkened silver chain.
Cubanite is a yellow/bronze colored copper and iron sulfide. Somewhat rare, sometimes from meteorites. It’s quite lovely and weird. This one is 1.925 ct and measures 74.mm x 7.1mm x 3.3mm approximately.
This is a V-trinned piece of cubanite which I think came from Quebec. I picked it up at a mineral show in NY.
